Batman – The Dark Knight
Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart
Directed by Chris Nolan
Warner Brothers 2008

Who hasn’t seen at least one Batman movie? Whether it is the one with Jack Nicholson as the Joker, the one with Jim Carrey as the Riddler or the one with Arnold Schwarzenegger as the big Popsicle guy, they’re all classics.  But let me tell you, that if you haven’t seen Batman The Dark Knight, you aint’ seen nothin’ yet.

In this sequel to Batman Begins we find Bruce Wayne / Batman (Christian Bale), who has teamed up with Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent Aaron Eckhart), want to rid the streets of its criminal organizations once and for all. However, the stakes are raised when a sadistic psychopath who calls himself the Joker (Heath Ledger) comes into play, unleashing destruction and terror upon Gotham’s inhabitants. You are literally sucked into the movie as it takes you deeper and deeper into the sick and perverted mind of an anarchist terrorist whose only desire is to watch the city burn to the ground and its people drown in a pool of terror.

In this dark, thrilling movie filmmaker Christopher Nolan creates a fresh version of good vs. evil eschewing comical villains in spandex and cheesy two-liners, Nolan offers a version that feels much more real and is definitely more terrifying. I always find it nice when the bad guy actually looks bad, which is one of the reasons I prefer this take on the new Batman series rather that the previous installments.

The cast in this film is outstanding. It includes actors such as Christian Bale as Batman and Heath Ledger who gives an Oscar worthy performance as the Joker. Both of them take you on an unforgettable ride though the minds of their characters. The film also includes Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent. The film also introduces another well-known Batman villain

Batman The Dark Knight is a must see and is without a doubt the best Batman movie ever made. Even if you are not a superhero movie fan, I can guarantee this film will have you captivated from beginning to end, delivering non stop action and the occasional chill up your spine.
